We spent the last twenty-four hours at a friend’s guest house in a small town an hour away, where we lazed about and walked the nature trail where cypress trees grow and make an adamant reflection in the lake. We ate, played loudly, slept soundly, and came home to an afternoon of just the three of us (normal) and a happiness of being — L painting and Baby arranging things in the next room so independently.
